Change of name on X.com (Twitter): Quick Steps
- Log in to Your Twitter Account
- Go to Your Profile Settings
- Access Your Account Settings
- Edit Your Profile Information
- Save Changes
On a Web Browser:
Step 1: Log in to Twitter
- Open your web browser and go to twitter.com. Log in to your Twitter account if you’re not already logged in.
Step 2: Use the more option button
- Click on your more option button located in the left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Go to Settings
- In the dropdown menu, select “Settings and privacy”.
Step 4: Edit your profile
- In the “Your Account” section, you will find options to edit your Account Information.
Step 5: Edit Account Information
- Click on “Account Information” from the menu on the right side of the screen.
Step 6: Edit Username
- Click on the pencil tip icon to “edit” username
Step 7: Change your Username
- You will see fields for your username. Click on the field with your current username, delete it, and type in your new name.
Step 8: Save changes
- Once you’ve entered your new name, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Save button”.
On the mobile app (Android or iOS):
Step 1: Launch the Twitter app
- Open the Twitter app on your smartphone. Log in to your Twitter account if you’re not already logged in.
Step 2: Go to profile
- Go to your profile by clicking here. In the upper left or upper right corner of the screen, tap on your profile photo or icon. You can access your profile page by doing this.
Step 3: Open profile
- Click on your “Profile” to open and “edit your profile’’.
Step 4: Edit Profile
- Tap the “Edit profile” button located on your profile page. Usually, it’s next to your profile photo at the top of the screen.
Step 5: Edit Name
- Enter the new name you wish to use and remove the one you are currently using. Once your new name has been entered, navigate down to the bottom.
Step 6: Save Changes
- After typing in your new name, make sure to click the “Save” button to confirm the changes.
Remember that changing your Twitter name will not change your @username, which is your unique identifier on the platform. If you also want to change your @username, you’ll need to do that separately, and it might have different implications for your account.
